About This Course
CLASSES BEGIN IN APRIL 2024
This 5-month course prepares eligible candidates to take the ASCPi certification exam for CTgyn(ASCPi)cm. The course covers the 4 subject areas covered in that ASCPi exam. Live lectures are provided virtually to review the 4 subject areas. All review sessions are done by experts in the field who are ASCP certified, so they have done the exam and work in the field. Study material, assistance with exam application and other support to help the candidate stay focused on exam preparation will be provided.
The following modules will be covered during the 5 months

- Anatomy, Physiology. and Embryologic origins.
- Histology, and Normal Cellular Morphology.
- Pathology, Cytopathology, and Biologic Behavior.
- Laboratory Operations.

Requirements
- A digital device for virtual streaming of classes
- Live virtual classes will be held 3 days per week
- Each session will be 2-3 hours
- Weekday classes will be after 6 p.m.
- A specific schedule will be sent before each module begins

Your Instructors
Marion Carrillo
MS, MLS (ASCP)cm
Marion is a medical laboratory scientist certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She also has a Masters degree in Clinical Laboratory Management and completed a specialist in blood banking certificate program. She has many years experience in the blood transfusion service in the U.S and in Trinidad and Tobago. In addition to the work done at Trinity she is an adjunct immunohaematology lecturer and provides non technical and technical advice to persons in need of blood, medical laboratory technologists respectively.
